Well I think we all know the biggest disappointment and that was the lack on Internet for everyone. Although we were able to give Internet individually for Steam stuff, wholly would of course been preferred.
I am partly to blame for not following up with the Embarq/Century Link order, but apparently they just didn't finish the order so it never got processed. It's pretty bad that neither of us caught this and I apologize.
I am glad that we were able to get the Steam games working even though it obviously took too long.
Many of our activities ran through the website, so not having Internet pretty much ruined that, but hope everyone had a good time anyway.
This was a true LAN in the in whole sense of the word/abbreviation.

For lack of internet, I'm not sure what you could have improved, anyone can say "fix the internet" but sometimes it's not that simple, especially on the weekends. Obviously that wasn't something you expected to happen, but it seemed to derail the schedule to the point where most of the time ended up being free play. At least you had a backup connection there and was able to share the Internet case-by-case to get things up and going. Only thing I can think of is to have a Live CD of Linux next time so if you NEED to you could boot to that and run it as a router. Regardless of that, things worked out in the long run. The venue was great, registration was easy & quick, the tables were laid out well & the network cabling & power was also good. Overall the experience got MUCH better as the day went on & most network issues were resolved. There seemed to always be games going, just had to look around and see what others were playing. In the end, one of the reasons I go to LAN parties is you get to do things at those parties that you can't do in an online-only environment. It's nice to go around and check out other people's PCs as well as meet others with a common interest, as well as catch up with others I know but don't get to see often. Based on that, I had a great time and would definitely attend another. Thanks for hosting!

I had a good time. If you only focus on the negative's that's not fun... Playing some AOEII was good and although i'm never going to buy LFD2, it was cool seeing it in action. I wish we would've gotten some more 10v10 TF2 going, but the tourney was a good idea, even though my game was off for some reason, guess i need to work on my small group game play as one death was devestating to the rest of the team, plus i don't play many capture the point maps, so it was a learning curve. Again thanks for the space and the time, when's the next one

Having hosted a few lan's I understand what its like to have major issues and to try to work them out. The lack of internet was a bummer but not the biggest issue. It would have helped to of had a little more communication letting everyone know what was going on. Running everything off of the website may not be the best idea in the future, even with internet we have had problems in the past with net slowdowns because of steam. I would recommend hosting a small atlan website if needed. Or considering the size of the lan, the schedule could be printed up and posted. My only other issue, if you call it an issue would be with the network performance. I noticed in most games that pings were higher than they should be and I even had issues using remote desktop for our server. I think most of those issues come from the network layout using multiple small switches per row. All and All, we had a great time. As always for me, its about the people. It was nice to meet new people, and see regulars . I had a good time playing games when I could get a decent size game going. I LOVED the T-shirts, posters, and the building. The drive was a little hard on the way home after such a long day, but thats how it goes. I hope to see some of you guys at our next events, as well as your future events.
